FOPIR Works Hard at Champ Car

Without a doubt, Champ Car weekend is one of the biggest opportunities that we get each year to spread the word about FOPIR.  Many folks who attend Champ Car don't come to the track at any other time, but  we need their support just as much as anyone else. But we didn't let this great opportunity go to waste, and thanks to a great volunteer turnout we signed up over 1100 new members at this single event!

The following members worked hard over the race weekend - sometimes in the pouring rain - to build up our organization: Ryan Massrey, Brian Hartsock, George Sword, Jason Knapp, Eroll Chandler, Brad & Laurel Larson, Mark Velky, Michael & Ellen Hudson, Bill Edgar, Peter Linsky, Marc & Lynde Prentice, Verne Naito, Gary Bockman, Carlyn & John Draneas, Mark Scholz, Henry Wang, and John Bates.

We also need to thank the event promoter and owner of Global Events Group, Mike Nealy, for providing our booth space, tent, and free tickets to the event for all our volunteers. Without excellent support from promoters like Mike, our job would be a lot harder.

We also want to single out this year's Festival Trophy race winner and FOPIR member Nick Fluge and thank him for his generous contributions to FOPIR.

We Need Articles From Every Club!

In recent weeks, some members have asked why there hasn't been more material in the FOPIR newsletter about the drag racing, go-kart, and motocross clubs that use PIR?  Well, the simple answer is that no one from those clubs has submitted any stories - so here's a call for information from All of our user groups!

Anyone can write for the FOPIR newsletter and submit a story about your club's event, your membership meetings, or just a profile of your club so we can all get to know a little more about our partners in FOPIR.

Don't worry that your story won't be good enough - the important thing is to get the information out about your club.  Pictures are always a great idea, too.

You can also publicize your club for free at www.pdxracer.com.
